The instrument collection
Our Music Department owns 39 pianos (including 28 Steinway grands, many in the living rooms of residence halls), a harp, a marimba, a range of modern orchestral instruments, and a large collection of early-music instruments. Also: the majestic C.B. Fisk organ and the Noack practice organ (pictured here). Meanwhile, our campus is laden with students who do things like write symphonies and play fiddle music for the sheer joy of it. Oh—and we happened to make a short film about two students who fit that exact description.
